11th Annual GI Film Festival Call for enteies

Washington, D.C. - USA
The 11th Annual GI Film Festival (GIFF), a cinema showcase dedicated exclusively to honoring members of the Armed Forces and the worldwide struggle for freedom and democracy. A veritable "Sundance for the troops," GIFF preserves the courageous stories of American veterans and salutes the sacrifices of American GIs while acknowledging the warrior spirit around the globe. The fest all unfolds in the heart of America's capital city while also offering national exposure through regional events, a robust marketing apparatus, power-house media partnerships, and relationships with key distributors.

The festival offers an array of marketing and distribution opportunities, including events in Washington, DC and San Diego, California, and first-look deals with distributors such as The American Heroes Channel. The GI Film Festival also delivers a massive amount of media exposure for its films and filmmakers, earning over 100 million media and consumer impressions in 2016, including television coverage by all major network DC affiliates and robust coverage from the military and entertainment trades.

In 2017, GIFF will bring together filmmakers in the military genre with top industry film and television executives for the fest's inaugural Pitchfest. Each participating filmmaker will be given 90 seconds to pitch their ideas for new film and TV projects to GIFF's panel of expert judges in the hopes of being awarded a prize package and recognition within the industry. There is a reason why actor Michele Monaghan (Fort BlissTrue Detectives ) said GIFF was the "single most profound experience" of her entire career. In bringing together Hollywood celebrities, filmmakers, Members of Congress and top military leaders, GIFF provides a unique mix of experiences that are unforgettable and, at times, life altering.
