2016, 115 min, English, Hindi

‘A Billion Colour Story” has its India premiere at Mumbai after successful screenings at the 21st Busan International Film Festival and the London BFI Film Festival.

The film follows the story of 11-year-old Hari Aziz and his mixed marriage parents, Imran, and Parvati. Imran and Parvati are aspiring filmmakers who after studying in Australia decide to relocate to India. In their filmmaking journey, they face unexpected problems that isolate and even marginalise them. Hari is an exceptionally perceptive 21st century metropolitan kid, brought up in comfort, surrounded with love, laughter, knowledge and kindness. His parents, especially his father, who has a deep-set belief in India, have always taught him to love his country. However, certain disturbing twists and turns in their life change their circumstances and upset their idyllic existence to a point where they threaten to erode Imran's very faith in the pure and inclusive fabric of India. Perturbed by his father’s pain, Hari decides to do something to restore that belief. The film plays out as an intimate father-son story about love, but it is as much a story about India, in all its myriad colours, charming contradictions and superficial differences, which questions what kind of world we want to leave behind for our children.

‘A Billion Colour  has  been produced by the veteran stage and screen actor Satish Kaushik, who also has a cameo role in the film.
