San Jose International Short Film Fest | Submit Your Short!

SAN JOSE INTERNATIONAL

SHORT FILM FESTIVALSan Jose, California - United States
October 20 to 23, 2016

In the Spotlight today is the 8th Annual San Jose International Short Film Festival (SJSFF), screening the best short-form stories on the festival circuit. Recently listed by MovieMaker Magazine among the "Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee," SJSFF continues its annual tradition of excellence as San Jose's only film festival exclusively dedicated to spectacular shorts.

SJSFF alum Ben Tolpin boasts, "This festival has the most solidly programmed blocks I've ever seen at a festival. Usually I'll see two or three good films in a block of seven. This festival it's six or seven out of seven." Situated in the heart of Silicon Valley, SJSFF champions a spirit of innovation and creativity that few other festivals can match, as it welcomes comedies, dramas, thrillers, animated works, documentaries, science-fiction tales, and everything in between. There's even a special competitive category for Micro-Cinema, stories told in no more than three minutes.

Each film is screened at SJSFF will be presented in a state-of-the-art theater with 4K projection, plus each film will be projected via DCP (Digital Cinema Package) with audio encoded with up to 5.1 surround channels. SJSFF plans to screen more than 150 world-class shorts for a diverse audience of up-and-coming filmmakers, established executives, industry players, and more. At the end of this four-day adventure, awards will be bestowed at an exciting gala that connects participating filmmakers with the audience they've wowed.
