The 41st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), a landmark destination on the fest circuit that continues to elevate the standard of excellent film programming. In 2015, TIFF screened 287 features and 110 shorts, representing 71 countries and offered an extensive lineup of panels with 250 guest speakers designed to help enhance filmmaker knowledge and advance conversation in the independent storytelling space. For its 40th anniversary in 2015, TIFF unveiled two new programmes; Primetime and Platform. Primetime presents the best in international television on the big screen, channeling the powerful, small-screen serial storytelling coming from broadcasters, streaming services and independent filmmakers. The new Platform programme is comprised of films of high artistic merit that champion director's cinema from around the world. A three-person international jury awarded a prize of $25,000 CAD to the best film in the programme.
