THE OTTAWA INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL AWARDS (OIFFA)
Announces Opening and Closing Night films with Special Bollywood Screening

 The Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards (OIFFA) aims to celebrate and promote Indian cinema in Ottawa and build a stronger link through the art of cinema. Being the first Indian film festival in the nation's capital, it is committed to advancing the work of creative Indian filmmakers while maintaining a space for similarly inspired Canadians. The festival's mandate is to present the best selection of Indian cinema to the diverse audience of Ottawa. The festival will include film screenings (short, documentary and feature), industry panel discussions, performances, talent workshops, emerging talent competition and awards, red carpet gala events and after-parties.

 "OIFFA is devoted to cultivating an audience for South Asian cinema and culture. It will showcase films, support filmmakers, recognize various performers and business executives, and promote the diverse perspectives of the South Asian diaspora. Ottawa is a city of celebration, immersed in culture with a multicultural vibe and we hope to bring a cultural revolution with the launch of the festival here," said Festival Founder & Director Inderpreet Singh.

 The OIFFA announced the Opening Night and Closing Night films along with the special Bollywood screening which will launch the festival. The Opening Night film in Haraamkhor, written and directed by Shlok Sharma and starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Nagesh Kukunoor's award-winning Dhanak (Rainbow) will close the festival with its Canadian premiere. Sharma and Kukunoor will be in attendance along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the star of Haraamkhor.

 A special Bollywood screening launching the festival on July 22nd, 2015 is the Canadian Screen premiere of Yash Raj Film's My Big Fat Bride (Dum Laga Ke Haisha), directed by Sharat Katariya starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar. Both stars will be presenting their films at the festival Award (OIFFA)

 The Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards is sponsored by Kalp. The main partner is Ottawa Tourism, along with Delta Ottawa City Center,Cineplex and National Art Center.

 The Gala night at Delta Ottawa City Center is on Thursday July 23rd, 2015, while the Live Concert (Friday July 24th, 2015) and Awards' Night (Saturday July 25th, 2015) will be at the National Art Center. Sixteen movies will be screened on July 22nd and 23rd at the Cineplex Coliseum.
