CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL
MOVIES AND MUSIC FESTIVAL
Chicago, Illinois - USA
April 14 to 17, 2016

8th Annual Chicago International Movies and Music Festival (CIMMfest), bringing musicians and filmmakers together for a roaring event that is nonstop with parties, concerts, premiere screenings, and mingling with some of the most exuberant indie artists. Fest goers enjoy the latest in music videos and competitive films that are all focused on music themes whether they're a documentary, feature, short or student project.

Louis Black, co-founder of the world-renowned South by Southwest (SXSW) describes the fest, "CIMMfest reminds me of what South by Southwest was when we were starting it. It has the same intensity and intention and it cares about music and movies." Last year the festival fanned out to 25 venues in Chicago's most vibrant and arts-friendly communities. The film menu included more than 125 documentary and narrative features, shorts, and music videos covering a dizzying array of cultures and genres, from Chinese punk and Cambodian pop to African taarab and vintage hip hop, rock, and blues.

CIMMfest offers enriching cinema and infectious music -- all of which has been culled from artists in every corner of the globe. Guests of CIMMfest have spanned the gamut from film and television star Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) to legendary directors Melvin Van Peebles (Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song) and music icons like Hank Shocklee (Public Enemy), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Booker T. Jones and Sam Lay, Yo La Tengo, Sierra Leone's Refugee All-Stars, and many more!
