Screening of Monsoon at the Mumbai Film Festival with cast & crew in attendance
award-winning feature documentary ‘Monsoon’ screens this coming Thursday 5th November at 4pm at PVR Phoenix Mills Compound, Lower Parel, Mumbai as part of the JIO MAMI 17th Mumbai Film Festival presented under the Discovery India section.
The film had its Asian Premiere at the festival earlier this week following screenings in Europe and North America. In 2014
the film won the People’s Choice Award at Toronto International Film Festival.
The screening will be followed by a short Q & A session with composer Andrew T. Mackay – who has worked on several YRF Films, with AR Rahman, Ranjit Barot, Amit Trivedi amongst others and also has his own music outfit Bombay Dub Orchestra. He will also present Bengali guitarist Sanjoy Das who is Bollywood’s leading guitarist who played on the soundtrack to Monsoon.
Also attending the screening is actress Moushumi Chatterjee who is featured in the film.
Kolkata born actress Moushumi Chatterjee is a Bollywood actress, who has also acted in Bengali cinema. Her on-screen roles have seen her paired with the likes of Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor, Jeetendra, Sanjeev Kumar and Vinod Mehra.
One of her seminal films was the 1979 film Manzil which saw her star alonside Amitabh Bachchan. The song and film clip of ‘Rhim Jhim Gire Saawan’ composed by the legendary composer RD Burman features in Monsoon.
