                        Asian Project Market
            Accepting Submissions until June 15

The Asian Project Market (APM) project is now accepting online registration for 2015 with opportunities for investment and co-production in big-scale commercial films to low-budget independent films.

The Asian Project Market supports both rookie and master directors of various Asian and international features by introducing and arranging meetings with investors, producers, and distributors. Over the past 17 years, APM has selected 442 films, of which approximately 200 have been completed.

To list a few achievements, one of the selections from 2013, AN (Japan, 2015) by Director Kawase Naomi has been selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the upcoming 68th Festival de Cannes and Thanatos, Drunk (Taiwan, 2015) by Director Chang Tso Chi from 2012 APM entry was invited to the Panorama section at the 65th Berlin Film Festival in February. The President(Georgia/France, 2014) by Mohsen MAKHMALBAF screened in the opening ceremony of the Orizzonti section at the 71st Venice Film Festival,  Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere (Nguyen Hoang Diep, Vietnam/France, 2014) won Best Film at the Venice Film Festival’s International Critics’ Week the same year, Fires on the Plain (Shinya TSUKAMOTO, Japan, 2014) was also nominated for the Golden Lion Award the same year, Stray Dogs (Ming-liang Tsai, Taiwan/France, 2013) won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2013 Venice Film Festival, and What They Don’t Talk About When They Talk About Love (Mouly Surya, Indonesia, 2013) competed in the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and won the NETPAC Award at the 2013 Rotterdam Film Festival. 

Korean APM projects including LEE Chang-Dong’s Poetry (2010), KIM Ki-duk’s The Bow (2010), BONG Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer(2013), and RYOO Seung-Wan’s The Berlin File (2012) all have contributed in publicizing APM, while YEON Sangho’s The Fake (2013) and OH Seong-Yun’s Leafie, A Hen into the Wild (2011) expanded the Korean Animation market. Following the success ofPaju (2009) by PARK Chan-ok, APM has helped discover the new projects of talented directors such as ZHANG Lu of Gyeongju (2013) that screened in the 67th Locarno International Film Festival and 19th Busan International Film Festival, and PARK Jung Bum of Alive (2014). Other projects like Seoul Station by Director YEON Sangho and Memories of the Sword by Director PARK Heung-shik are currently under production.

The 2015 Asian Project Market will be held for three days from October 4 (Sun) to 6 (Tue), 2015.
