4th olleh International Smartphone Film Festival Opens Call for Entries!

Gearing up for its 4th year, South Korea's olleh International Smartphone Film Festival (ollehff, festival director LEE Joon-ik) that started the trend of smartphone filmmaking has officially announced its call for entries for the prize of 44,000,000 KRW (around 43,000 USD) including smart devices as additional prize. Anyone, regardless of male or female, old or young, is eligible. There are no restrictions on film genre, but the film has to be filmed with smart devices like smartphone, pad and tab. The categories are Short (1min~10min), Extreme Short (1sec~1min) and Special awards for youth, 6 second-long short, funniest and KineMaster completed films.

The entries will open from July 1 to August 14 and after preliminary and final selections, the award winners will be announced at the Award Ceremony, which will be held in olleh Square Gwanghwamun on the September 15, 2014. Total prize money of the 2 official awards and various special awards sum up to 44,000,000 KRW worth including smart devices. The award winning films will be screened at Megabox Gangnam, on olleh TV, olleh.com, and so on.

Followed by the well-known Korean directors such as LEE Joon-ik, PARK Chan-wook and BONG Jun-ho, director RYOO Seung-wan will take the seat of the jury president this year. RYOO who is known for genre films such as The Berlin File(2012) and The Unjust(2010) stated at an interview that he was honored to be a part of a new form of film festival that would lead the smart device era and would give his best to discover the films with brilliant ideas. The jury members for the finals are producer KIM Ho-sung, film critic Darcy Paquet, film journalist BECK Una, director BONG Man-dae and CHIN Won-suk.

13th Pune International Film Festival – PIFF

January 8-15 , 2015.

Jointly organized by the Pune Film Foundation and the Government of Maharashtra the Pune International Film Festival has various sections.

The prestigious World Competition Section has cash prizes which are judged by international juries. The following awards are given by the Government of Maharashtra in the World Competition Section for Feature Films:

Best Film - Cash Award of INR 10, 00,000 /-

Best Director - Cash Award of INR 5, 00,000 /-

Entries open for the world competition as well as non competition sections for the 13th Pune International Film Festival (PIFF).

Send in your DVD screener (with English subtitles) of your film to be put forth to the Festival Selection Committee along with the entry form. The Entry Form is available on the website  and can be submitted online. Please go through the rules and regulations before submitting the entry form.

The entries should  NO LATER than 31st October, 2014.

Feature films produced during the period of 1st January 2013 to 31st October 2014 will be eligible.

Once selected for the Competition Section, screening copy [35 mm print or DCP] will be acceptable for screening at the festival and must have subtitles in English.

The Film festival (PIFF) does not pay any screening fee, for the film selected in competition section.

If the film gets selected in Competition section, the film festival (PIFF) will invite one representative(Producer/Director/Lead actor) to present the film at the festival through official airline in economy class, with 3 days accommodation and local transport with official Festival partners.
