Bengaluru documentary filmmaker Pavitra Chalam
awarded at DocWeek Australia

Pavitra  Chalam won the Asia Pacific New Documentary Award for Outstanding New Talent at Australia's DocWeek Film Festival for his feature-length documentary 'Indelible'. It screened at the Asia-Pacific New Documentary Program.

Indelible, the only documentary from India at this year's fest, is based on the inspiring stories of seven people in Chennai with Down’s syndrome. Among them are an Olympic gold medalist, a Bharata Natyam dancer and a cricket player.

DocWeek is Australia's premiere international documentary event, celebrating documentary film and television. The event brings leading professionals of the international documentary industry together to celebrate and engage.  
Seven days of screenings, master classes and artist conversations.

Highlights include screenings of over 30 documentaries, featuring current and retrospective work by internationally acclaimed filmmakers; The F4 Award; master classes facilitated by visiting international guests and artist conversations.
